Super Eagles matchday squad reveal


Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has named a strong 18-man squad to face Libya in today’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying game at the Nest of Champions, scooped in Uyo.

Francis Uzoho retained his starting shirt as the first choice goalkeeper while Ikechukwu Ezenwa was listed on the bench. Shehu Abdullahi returned to the team and he is starting ahead Ola Aina.

Jamilu Collins was handed his first competitive start after the Exhibition match against Liberia. The ‘Oyinbo Wall’ Troost Ekong and Leon Balogun make up the back-four.

Ogenyi Onazi has been ruled out of the game, Wilfred Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi are the three-man midfielders. Odion Ighalo will lead the three-man attack alongside Kalu Uche and captain Ahmed Musa.

Nigeria XI vs Libya:
Uzoho – Shehu, Balogun, Ekong, Collins – Ndidi, Etebo, Iwobi – Musa (C), Ighalo, Kalu.

Bench: Ezenwa, Ogu, Onyekuru, Iheanacho, Success, Aina and Omeruo.
The game will kickoff at 4pm.
