Following another successful campaign in 2017/18, Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric has been named UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.
The Croatia captain beat former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah to the award, picking up his second individual prize of the year.
Modric, who won the golden ball at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, also claimed another positional award as the best midfielder during last season’s campaign.
Real Madrid goalkeeper, Keylor Navas was voted best goalkeeper with Sergio Ramos claiming the best defender award while former Real Madrid talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo completed the sweep as the best forward.
In the Women’s category, Wolfsburg’s Penille Harder also won the UEFA Woman’s Player of the Year.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star and football icon David Beckham received the president’s award for his work outside of football and the impact he had made throughout and after his career.
